Made Information |
Collar Types - A long sleeve shirt will have a banded collar that is made in several parts and is usually worn with a tie. A short sleeve shirt will usually have a sport shirts collar sometimes called a Convertible collar that is not as complex and can be worn with or without a tie. You can have shirts in exact or average neck sizes and exact or average arm lengths. Pocket Types - Most public safety groups use the Scalloped Flaps, with pleated pocket faces and 5 military creases either sewn or pressed in and shoulder straps and badge tab. However, many Fire Departments still use the Traditional Fire shirt that has a plain pocket with a mitered flap, straps, badge tab and no military creases. The model shirt known as a Pilot's shirt comes with the pointed flap and shoulder straps, no badge tab and no creases. Fabrics - Most shirts are 65 Dacron, 35 Cotton perma-press, however note that a better more more cotton shirt is available. The all-polyester shirts are more easily home maintained but are hotter than cotton. The deluxe tropical blends are Dacron/Rayon and a bit heavier than the above. Most colors are available in stock. Special Cuts-Shirts-Trousers-Coats-Ties-Hats-in most fabrics or designs - Dacron Wool, Dacron cotton blends or other are available in many colors in any custom-made model. One department needed a 6 inch wide shirt pocket (3/4 wider then the standard shirt pocket) to hold special forms and in the color forest green. |
